Barry Yusufu is a self-taught artist from Nigeria who has rapidly become one of the most sought-after and collectible names in the international contemporary art world in recent years. Born in 1996 in Nigeria, he has developed a unique style through his powerful portraits, painted in oil and acrylic on canvas. His iconic works reflect both his deep-rooted Christian faith and his intense desire to elevate the beauty and strength of African men and women in art.

With his portraits he breaks through clichés

Yusufu’s work is strongly inspired by the often stereotypical and condescending images of African people that he encountered in museums and galleries during his youth. With his portraits, he breaks through these clichés, focusing on the modern African perspective and creating a new narrative that is both authentic and inspiring. In line with what he describes as the “divinity” of his portraits, Yusufu pays special attention to refining the facial features of his subjects. His aim is to emphasize their unique beauty and elevate them to iconic stature.

November this year

We are therefore very proud to announce that Barry Yusufu has joined us and that together we will release an exclusive edition, scheduled for November this year (2025). It is a great opportunity to obtain a work by this emerging talent, especially now that he is widely acclaimed and at the beginning of what will undoubtedly be an impressive career. The print run of this edition remains a surprise for now, but we are busy preparing to realize this project.
