Anton Heyboer - System 1974

Anton Heyboer (1924–2005) was an influential Dutch artist known for his raw, symbolic visual language. In drawings, prints, and paintings, he worked with repeated signs, numbers, and crosses as part of a personal, self-constructed system. Freedom, autonomy, and the release of imposed structures were central to his work and life. His oeuvre is direct, intense, and existential in nature and is valued for its uncompromising character and enduring relevance within post-war art.
