Is a series of woodcut images first published in 1770. This is the edition of Ehon butai ogi (1917) by artists Katsukawa Shuncho and Ippitsusai Buncho.
The fan-shaped portraits capture the characteristic traits (or nigao-e) of each actor.
Prints over 100 years old may contain some spots and wrinkles. Inspect the photos carefully(!).
